How to Win Friends and Influence People (3.8)

Part 3, Chapter 8: A formula that will work wonders for you

Principle: Try honestly to see things from the other person’s point of view

People may be totally wrong–but they don’t think so.

Don’t condemn, but try to understand. There is a reason people think and act as they do, so try to find out why.

Put yourself in their place – genuinely.

We often tell our kids, “Treat others how you want to be treated.” So do that.

From a business perspective:

Before asking someone to buy your product/service, ask yourself why they should want to.

When’s the last time you tried to see something from another person’s point of view? Especially if you really disagree with them.
